What the documentary covers
The Global Threat broadens the discussion beyond a single country. It considers reports of close encounters in flight and how civilian researchers, witnesses, and journalists have pressed institutions to take aviation-safety concerns seriously.
The title expresses the program’s framing; an unresolved sighting does not itself establish a hostile actor. The substantive question is what happened in the airspace and whether the available observations allow a reliable reconstruction.
A closer look at the evidence
For international comparisons, use the official GEIPAN and UK National Archives links in Government Files. Different agencies use different reporting and classification systems, so an “unidentified” label may not mean the same thing in every collection.
