Harvard astronomer Avi Loeb discussed a report attributed to journalist Ross Coulthart suggesting that the president authorized the U.S. Department of War to engage UAP over White Sands Missile Range. Loeb called the report unconfirmed. That qualifier matters and should travel with the story wherever it is repeated.

When reviewed, Loeb’s post showed approximately 25,200 views, 473 likes and 65 reposts.

White Sands should leave a data trail

This is not an ordinary sighting location. A military engagement inside instrumented range airspace could generate radar tracks, aircraft telemetry, command logs, communications, weapons records and post-event assessments.

If the reported event occurred, investigators should look for:

  • 🛸 The exact date, time and operating area
  • 🛸 The authority that approved the action
  • 🛸 The platform and personnel involved
  • 🛸 The sensors that detected and tracked the object
  • 🛸 Any weapons release or other interception attempt
  • 🛸 The object’s recorded behavior before, during and after the encounter
  • 🛸 Recovery activity, debris logs or environmental samples
  • 🛸 Scheduled aircraft, balloons, drones, targets and classified tests in the area

Those same records could support a conventional explanation. That is exactly why they matter.

Watch the layers of retelling

The public version appears to pass through several hands: an alleged event, a protected or unnamed source, a journalist’s report and later commentary. Each retelling can preserve the headline while stripping away context and uncertainty.

The right response is neither automatic belief nor reflexive dismissal. Start with the first event that should have created records, then follow the evidence outward.

Assessment

Current confidence: Unconfirmed, with potentially discoverable records. Unlike the posts drawn from Grusch’s interview, this concerns a separate alleged event at a location where extensive instrumentation may exist.

The strongest next step would be authenticated documentation or direct testimony from involved personnel, followed by review of synchronized sensor data.
